The Environment club

Environmental clubs in schools encourage students to get involved in meaningful activities and projects focused on the environment. These clubs provide a platform for students to connect with and influence their parents and local communities, promoting responsible environmental behavior.

The Eco-Green Club in each school will consist of teachers and a group of enthusiastic students dedicated to learning about the environment and taking action to improve it. The club provides an excellent opportunity to raise awareness, develop positive attitudes, and encourage students to participate in real-world activities beyond the classroom and curriculum limits. Any motivated teacher in the school can become the club coordinator.

Training sessions for teachers and students on setting up Eco-Green Clubs will be held in LGAs. A guide will be provided to interested schools on how to start and run the clubs. This guide will explain how to establish the club, the ideal number of students, and the types of activities and projects the club can undertake. It will help the coordinator manage the club effectively and connect with the community. Schools will also attend training by the National Eco-Green Club Board.

Schools committed to the initiative are expected to create an annual plan for their club. Teachers attending Eco-Green Club training will receive an evaluation checklist to monitor progress. Awards will be given to motivate and recognize the efforts of club members.
